Proudest moments
Carbon Intensity Performance*
In F26, we achieved our lowest-ever CO₂ emission intensity of 50.6 grams of CO₂/RPK, representing a 3% improvement year-on-year.
*Carbon intensity is a key environmental performance metric used by airlines to measure the efficiency of their operations in terms of greenhouse gas emissions. It is defined as: CO₂ emissions per Revenue Passenger Kilometre (CO₂/RPK). This means the grams of CO₂ emitted for every kilometre flown by a paying passenger.
Fleet Efficiency
We continue to invest in next-generation aircraft and engine technology as a core driver of our competitiveness. With an average fleet age of just 4.57 years and NEO technology now deployed across 75% of our fleet, we operate one of the youngest and most fuel-efficient fleets in Europe. These investments improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions intensity and support our ultra-low-cost operating model.
Carbon Intensity Goal
We have established a target to reduce carbon intensity by 25% by 2030 relative to F20 levels. Achievement of this target is underpinned by fleet modernisation, increased sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) uptake, investment in next-generation technologies and a continued focus on operational efficiency. Together, these measures support a pragmatic approach to decarbonisation while maintaining the affordability and connectivity that underpin our business model.
Growing Our Potential
During F26, we welcomed more than 2,700 new employees, further strengthening our workforce and supporting the delivery of our strategic and operational objectives. As we continue to grow our network and operations, attracting, developing and retaining talent remains fundamental to maintaining our high standards of safety, service and operational performance.
Embracing Diversity
Diversity is a key strength of our organisation and supports our ability to deliver sustainable growth across our network. With more than 100 nationalities represented across our workforce, we foster an international and inclusive culture that brings together a wide range of perspectives and experiences. In F26, women represented 48% of our total workforce, reflecting a balanced organisational structure, while female representation in management positions reached 41%, exceeding our established target.
Sustainability Ambassador Programme
The Sustainability Ambassadors Programme continues to strengthen cross‑functional engagement, embedding sustainability considerations into day‑to‑day activities across the organisation. With the upcoming fourth term in September 2026, the programme enables employees to contribute to local environmental and community initiatives, supporting knowledge‑sharing and the broader adoption of sustainable practices across teams.
Customer First Compass
Customer First Compass is the framework that guides how we invest in our customers. Supported by more than €14 billion of investment, the programme brings together initiatives across product, price, service and communication to enhance the travel experience while strengthening operational performance. By focusing on the areas that matter most to customers, we are improving reliability, maintaining affordability and delivering greater value across our network.
WIZZ Foundation
Through the WIZZ Foundation, we support organisations that improve the lives of children living with life-threatening illnesses. In F26, the Foundation expanded from Hungary and Poland into Italy, the United Kingdom and Romania, broadening its presence across our core markets. This expansion enables us to deliver local impact across our network while maintaining a consistent approach to community engagement and social responsibility.
Special Aircraft Livery
To mark our 20th anniversary, we unveiled a special Airbus A321neo livery featuring our iconic WIZZ colours and sustainability-inspired design elements. The aircraft reflects two themes that have shaped our development over the past two decades: a distinctive brand and continued investment in a modern, efficient fleet.
COP29
We became the first ultra-low-cost airline to participate in COP29 in Baku, using the platform to advocate for greater collaboration and effective policy support to advance aviation’s decarbonisation.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel*
In F25, ahead of EU mandates, we trialled sustainable aviation fuel in collaboration with Airbus on two major routes, Barcelona to Budapest and Brussels Charleroi to with SAF supplied by Cepsa and distributed by World Fuel Services. Furthermore, we set an aspirational goal of fuelling 10% of our flights with sustainable aviation fuel by 2030.
In F26, we uplifted 27,600 tonnes of SAF in compliance with ReFuelEU Aviation regulation. SAF is a key component of the Company’s decarbonisation strategy and is expected to play a central role in reducing emissions by 2050. We are focused on maximising its use where commercially viable, while actively supporting the development of the aviation fuel market. To accelerate SAF availability, we secure long-term offtake agreements and make targeted investments in production technologies to support the scale-up of supply. Through equity investments in Firefly and CleanJoule, we support innovative SAF production pathways expected to increase availability in Europe.
*Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is an alternative to conventional aviation fuels, potentially reducing the industry’s reliance on fossil fuels. While SAF emits similar CO₂ levels during combustion, its lifecycle CO₂ impact is significantly lower – at least 65% less than fossil-based kerosene – thanks to its production from non-fossil resources like used cooking oil. Nonetheless, the CO₂ emissions caused during the flight remain almost the same. For further information on SAF, please see our Environment subpage.
