At Wizz Air, we enable connectivity that supports economic and social development across the markets we serve. By providing affordable air travel and expanding access to destinations across Europe and beyond, we help connect people, communities and businesses, creating opportunities for mobility, tourism, employment and trade.
Our network plays an important role in facilitating travel for work, education, family and leisure, while supporting the growth of local economies and the tourism sector. Through accessible air travel and enhanced connectivity, we contribute to greater economic participation and stronger links between regions and communities.
Creating Connectivity
Air connectivity plays an important role in enabling economic and social activity. By providing affordable air travel across Europe and beyond, we connect people, businesses and communities, supporting mobility across a diverse range of markets. Our network enables travel for work, education, business, family and leisure purposes, helping people access opportunities and maintain connections across borders.
Supporting Tourism and Regional Development
Tourism is an important driver of economic activity in many of the regions we serve. By providing direct and affordable air services, we help connect travellers with destinations across our network, supporting visitor economies and expanding access to tourism markets. Our network also improves connectivity for regional communities, helping increase access to international markets, attract investment and strengthen economic development beyond major capital cities.
Contributing to Economic Growth
Accessible air travel supports trade, investment and labour mobility, helping strengthen economic links between countries and regions. Our operations contribute to economic activity across the aviation, tourism, hospitality and services sectors, generating both direct and indirect value. As we continue to expand our network, we support the movement of people, goods, skills and ideas across a growing number of markets.
Expanding Access and Consumer Choice
Our low-fare model is designed to make air travel accessible to a broader range of customers. By offering extensive network coverage and a variety of travel options, we provide greater choice while helping reduce barriers to mobility.
We believe connectivity should be accessible to more people, regardless of geography or income.
Delivering Efficient Operations
Operational efficiency remains central to our business model. Through continued investment in fleet modernisation, digitalisation and process improvements, we seek to provide affordable travel while maintaining a resilient and competitive operation. Our modern fleet and point-to-point network support efficient operations while providing direct connectivity across Europe and beyond.
Community Impact
Wizz Air recognises that its role extends beyond the safe transport of passengers. By connecting communities and supporting mobility, we contribute to the regions in which we operate. We also seek to build constructive relationships with our stakeholders through community engagement, responsible business practices and transparent governance. Our approach includes supporting community initiatives, promoting environmental and social responsibility, and conducting our business in line with our corporate values and long-term strategy.

Sustainability Culture
The Sustainability Ambassadors Programme continues to strengthen cross‑functional engagement, embedding sustainability considerations into day‑to‑day activities across the organisation. With the fourth term starting in September 2026, the programme enables employees to contribute to local environmental and community initiatives, supporting knowledge‑sharing and the broader adoption of sustainable practices across teams. This is complemented by the Annual Sustainability Month, a structured, four‑week, network‑wide initiative designed to promote practical actions at scale. Through targeted activities, employees are encouraged to support local products, embrace circular practices, prioritise well‑being and reduce resource use, including plastic consumption. Together, these programmes support consistent behaviours and cultural alignment across the organisation, reinforcing awareness of sustainability priorities while contributing to employee engagement and operational effectiveness across the network.
WIZZ Marathons
Like affordable travel, a healthy and active lifestyle should be available to everyone. Running is the most inclusive and affordable sport as one only needs a pair of running shoes – this sport is accessible and affordable for all, similar to the ultra-low-cost business model.
By participating in and sponsoring the WIZZ Marathons, we seek to take action in our communities and encourage healthy lifestyles and wellbeing. This opportunity is one of the many ways in which Wizz Air seeks to achieve our broader mission of enriching lives and fostering global connections. Through these marathons, we seek to enable a platform where people can gather together and share their joy through running and complete their own personal goals, whether it’s a 10 kilometre race, half-marathon or a full marathon.
In 2026, Wizz Air organises nine running events across the Wizz Air network, including Cluj-Napoca, Milan, Warsaw, Budapest, London, Skopje, Sofia, Rome and Venice. In 2025, some of these events included over 10,000 participants, and we would love to see you at the next one!
